I am very fortunate to have some pretty great friends in my life. On May 30, 2012, one of my best friends, Heather, gave birth to a perfect little baby girl, Lydia Katherine. I had the absolute privilege of capturing Lydia during her first few weeks of life. I was even luckier to get to spend some great quality time with this little munchkin (thanks to Boston traffic and my desire to not get stuck in it for an hour).
Over the past year, I have been there to celebrate several other milestones in Heather and Jakub’s lives. Here are a few of my favorite images that I have captured of them from their engagement session and wedding.
As for little Lydia, she has such a sassy personality on her already and makes sure to let you know how she feels about things! She certainly let us know that she was not interested in wearing any of the beautiful hand knit hats made by my friend Emily Palmer of Lil Red Hearts (you can find her wonderful handcrafted hats on Etsy).
Instead of wearing an incredibly adorable bumble bee suit for a photograph that Heather and I have been planning out for 6 months, Lydia had other plans. We removed her diaper for 1 minute to set up the shot and then without a flinch, Lydia let loose on her mama… straight through the bee suit! This is the moment the new mom realized that her little munchkin had just pooped on her!
And this is Lydia’s very satisfied look after destroying the chances of having to wear the bee suit for an image. Hey, any kid who is this good at making a point (even at 12 days old, wins my approval! Way to go Lydia! Don’t lose your edge!
I look forward to many more years of documenting this family as they grow into an even more beautiful and special clan! I love them so very much and am so honored to share these remaining favorite images from their maternity and newborn sessions with you all. Thank you and Congratulations Heather, Jakub and Bella (Cody’s cousin-dog)!
(Couldn’t leave Big Sister Bella out of the solo portraits! She was such a good model when her little sister got tired!) Hope you all have a great rest of the week!
